Jack's and Lorri's Road Trip, Page 4
Williamsburg, Virginia
After 3300 miles or so, we finally made it to "The Burg".

This is the route we took and the red dots are where we stopped for the
night. We spent four nights in hotels and 11 nights in the Sportsmobile,
including six nights in a row between Taos and Lexington. Thankfully we had
good weather for that stretch and most of the places we camped had showers!

Here we are unpacking at Uncle Hobble's (my brother Bob) place in the Burg.

Saturday morning we joined the crowd at the Williamsburg Farmers Market in
merchant Square.

A typically blooming scene in the historic area, or the "HA" as some call
it.

The Market House is another project supported by all those Mars Bars you
eat.

Another typical scene

The Capitol

The new ox handler.

They outweigh her by about four tons but they do what she wants them to do.

The Governor's Palace and the Green

We couldn't wait to get back to our favorite restaurant in Williamsburg.

I tried the crispy oysters and Lorri had the lobster dish.

Both were excellent

'Twas a warm quiet afternoon. We came here for a picnic lunch.

Beer break.

An old friend and fraternity brother from Penn State happened to be in
Williamsburg.

We got together for a beer or two and catch up on the last 45 years.

Bobbie is the only other person that I knew (besides the people I went with)
who was also at Woodstock!

This is a soft shell crab as presented at The Fat Canary in Williamsburg.
Best one I ever had!

...and this was my dessert at the same place. Farewell Williamsburg!
