Park at the lot off Mission Gorge Road and check out the dam and the surrounding area; very nice!
Read the plaques, see the model, start walking.
The trail and the foot bridge leading away from the dam toward Mission Trails Regional Park
If you see the sight in the photo on the right, you are very close to the cache!
Keep walking and you'll get to this beautiful view of the Rte. 52 bridge. On the other side is Old Camp Elliott

This was taken in MTRP during a non-Geocaching outing. I was struck by the bright orange flowers. Did I mention I was colorblind? Just kiddin.

Camp Elliott was used for training soldiers during WWII. They practiced shooting and bombing and accidently left a few unexploded things scattered about, so I stuck pretty much to the worn trails, not wanting to step on an unexploded thing.
This here is a bomb! At least it looks something like bombs I've seen in comic books. There were markers and flagging all around it, so I decided to leave it there. I did consider the idea of taking it and putting it in the Old Cam Elliott Geocache, but thought better of it. It looked kinda heavy.
