We drove from Burgundy to Provence on Saturday. This is the "Villa" where we stayed for the week

It's called "Mas la Monaque" and had everything we
needed

This is the front porch

This is one of the dining areas, the one closest to
the kitchen.

The little town of Les Baux de Provence was about a
15-minute drive

It had lots of little streets with shops, restaurants
and people

The highlight is the ruins of the ancient fortress

It must have been pretty impressive a few hundred
years ago.

Meanwhile, back at the villa, a little bocce ball was
in order

This was taken at Dalmeran Winery. The well supposedly
dates to Roman times or at least it's pretty old.

Great lunch after the Dalmeran visit at Le Garde
Manger. That's the owner/chef serving us.

Somewhere near the villa, Maries?

The Roman Arch at Glanum, just south of St. Remy

The cheese course of our chef's dinner at the villa

Lunch in Arles

A side street in Arles

The Roman Amphitheater in Arles - 2000 years old and
still being used today. Almost like Qualcomm.

Kelly & Lorri in the amphitheater.

There is also a Roman theater in Arles and it is also
still un use.

Lorri on stage. This theater in its prime could seat
10,000 people.

Vincent van Gogh used to hang out and paint in Arles.

Still sort of looks the same, doesn't it?

The Maussane Market. Maussane was about four miles
from the villa. It probably still is.

Where the Maussane locals go for baguettes

Another 2000 year old Roman structure still standing,
the Pont du Gard.

This is the second tallest surviving Roman structure,
a few feet shorter than the Coliseum in Rome.

We enjoyed a few bottles of fine wine during our week
in Provence and had a great time.
