| It was a
beautiful spring day, the second day of spring, 2005, so I went for a
short stroll around the village and took a few photos.
First stop, right outside my door...
A little closer to the street
The regal-looking bird of paradise guards our Vulcan Ave. home.
The house next door
Looking across Vulcan toward our house
I cut through a hole in the fence on the other side of the tracks, crossed PCH at the stop sign at "I" St. and headed toward the bluff.
Stopping for a few flower shots on the way.
Here are some nice yellow ones.
Here are some others. These were at the "I" St. view point.
Looking down the bluff at "I" St.
From "I" St. again
Heading north on fourth, more flowers
And more...
And even more!
The 1880 Schoolhouse of Encinitas.
My favorite security gate. Watch out for the "Bad Mood Dog"!
Some bougainvillea
This is the shell collection at the end of "E" St.
An ocean view from "E" St.
And Another.
At Fourth and "E" there were work crews in the trees.
A nice little courtyard along Fourth St.
A flowering shrub on Fourth.
The "D" Street Viewpoint.
This view down the steps at "D" St. gives an idea how high up the bluff is.
A surfer lady heads down the stairs.
This is looking at Moonlight Beach from the Moonlight overlook on the south side of "C" St.
Flowers at the overlook.
A view toward Moonlight Beach.
Heading down to Moonlight Beach.
Looking north toward Stone Steps from just north of Moonlight Beach.
The beach has lost a lot of sand this winter.
The surf was 4 or 5 feet high with fair form.
A surfer.
A view of the "D" St. stairs from the beach.
Back up at the "D" St. Viewpoint looking down.
The "Encinitas" sign with La Paloma Theater in the background.
Looking south along Coast Highway.
The "Small Mall" at "E" St. and PCH.
Looking south at "E" St.
Another view of the tracks from a little farther south.
Some back yard flowers.
A dog and it's jogger passing by.
Well that's it for today... |
