September 8 to October 16, 2003

San Diego, CA, to State College, PA, to Williamsburg, VA, and back to San Diego

Update, October 20, 2003: After nearly 7,500 miles and over six weeks we made it back to San Diego. We had a great trip and enjoyed our time with friends and family, rooting for Penn State and seeing some of the countryside. Hopefully this website will give you some idea of what our trip was like.

The Beginning

Welcome to Jack & Lorri's travel web page. Today is September 7th, 2003, and we're packing up the van and getting ready to take off early tomorrow. Our ultimate destination is State College, PA, where we intend to go to three Penn State (Jack's alma mater) football games, hang out and have a big family gathering for the Wisconsin game on October 4th. Jack's nephew, Sean McHugh, is a senior and is Penn State's starting fullback.

First stop will be "The Oasis Resort" in Mesquite, NV, which is just off I-15 before the NV/AZ border. Last chance to gamble heading north. We don't gamble much but you can't beat the room rates, $27.95 a night! It will probably be 110 degrees in Mesquite. We'll sleep in an air-conditioned room rather than camp, OK?
