Italy Trip 2007
On September 25th we will leave Richmond, VA, and fly to Chicago and then Rome, arriving (hopefully) sometime around 8:00 AM, Italian Time, which is six hours ahead of the East Coast and nine ahead of the Pacific Time Zone.
We will be spending three nights in Rome and then on Saturday, September 29, we will pick up a rental car and head to Tuscany where will will spend the week in a villa somewhere near Montalcino with three couples, all good friends from San Diego. From the villa, we will head to Florence where we will drop off the car and spend three nights. We'll pick up another car on Tuesday and do some exploring (Bologna? Parma? Cinque Terra?) before heading back to Rome. We leave Rome on October 16th.
We're back! And what a great trip we had: Rome, Montalcino, Florence, Lucca, Cinque Terre, Porto Santo Stefano and back to Rome - history, art, food, wine, friends, scenery, wine, more wine, planes, trains, busses, boats, and cars and more wine - this trip had it all!
Almost all the photos are straight off the camera, not cropped or re-touched or reduced in size. Hopefully the full-sized photos won't slow it down too much.
