September 12, 2002, Chagrin Falls (sorta near Cleveland), Ohio. Mostly everybody who logs onto these pages knows that my sister Jeannie passed away in February after a three year battle with ovarian cancer.

She lived in Chagrin Falls in this house where my brother-in-law Kevin still lives and prospers. We thought it might be fun to stop by for a few days to share some martinis and catch up on things. Besides, I hadn't yet seen Kevin's new purple Harley Davidson Fantail Deuce.

This is Kevin and said bike. On the right, I'm taking a photo out of the window of the van as we followed Kevin to the cemetery where my sister is buried.

The weather was perfect for a ride and we brought along some Tanquerays & tonics, which was her favorite drink. That's us above, paying our respects in a way in which she would have whole-heartedly approved. The people at the cemetery may have thought we were a little nuts, but who cares?

That afternoon I made my world-famous slow-cooked pork spare ribs, which can be seen on the grill in the background in the photo on the right. On the left is Kevin, me and Elise Hammond, Kevin's daughter and my niece, toasting with a pre-dinner martini.

Elise and Jon live in the area and it was great that they could join us during our visit.

Here we all are.
