Paso Robles, November 30 - October 2
After breakfast at Katy's Place on Monday, Lorri and I drove down to Paso Robles. We had some time to kill before we could check in to our VRBO so we took a stroll around the town square.
The town square
Before long we ended up at Pappy McGreggor's Irish Pub for a healthy drink
More photos from around the square.
I think this used to be the courthouse or city hall
Our rental turned out to be a great spot
Nicely decorated, clean and well-located
Good wi-fi but no network TV. Fortunately we could cast from our phones so we were able to watch the Padre games.

After we got settled we walked to town and had a wine-tasting at Justin.
We then had dinner at a place on the square called "Tastes", a small bite or tapas type place. It was good.
Here's a portion of the Irish Whiskey selection at the new liquor store in town.
They had a great selection of Scotch too, including this vertical of Macallan. I almost bought the 1977 but then realised I was about $89,950 short.
On Tuesday we thought we'd try lunch at Calcareous.
It's on a hilltop with great views and we thought maybe it would be cool enough up there to sit outside. Alas! it was not.
Nevertheless, we had a nice table inside with the AC and a pretty good lunch. Wine too!
And bread!
The views from Calcareous
Some folks found shady areas and sat outside
It was hot hot hot!
Lunch on Wednesday before we went to meet Greg and Kelly was here.
It was good!
I had a "wedge" and it looked like this except I already had eaten a tomato and Lorri gave me some of her carnitas.
