Carmel Weekend
We were honored to be invited to help nephew (sort of) Chis and Haley celebrate their wedding in Carmel-by-the-Sea! We decided to make it an adventure and spend some time in Paso Robles and Solvang on the way back to San Diego.

On the way north from San Diego we decided to break up the 400+ mile drive with a stop at the Sideways Inn in beautiful downtown Beullton. It's near Solvang, hence the (fake) windmill.
We secured a nice ground-level room with a courtyard patio overlooking the pool area.
It was a nice room and a nice stop-over
Indoor plumbing and everything!

There was a bar/restaurant on the property so we stopped for an attitude adjustment after our exciting ride through LA.
Here we are adjusting our attitudes.
The next day, it was on to Carmel!

We got to park right at our doorstep and easily unload all our stuff. We brought a lot of stuff.
Saturday evening there was a "meet and greet" for those staying in Carmel, which was everybody, including Frank, baby Leo and aunt Sara
Brother of the groom, Nick, Ashley and Rachel
Sara, Dustin, Suzy (mother of the groom and Steve's sister), and Lynn
Chris, the groom on the right.
The pizzas have arrived. The wine was good!
Haley, the bride with Rachel, her new sister-in-law!
Did I mention the wine was good?
It was cool, cloudy, drizzly evening but that didn't put a damper on anything. Look how happy Ash, Sara and Lynn are!

When we got back to town the sun was shining and it was a beautiful afternoon!
A little later we met Lynn, Steve, Ash, Frank, Sara, Dustin and, of course, Leo, for dinner
Dustin had a personal paella
I had salmon pasta
I think Leo was hungry too!
