We discovered a nice area to hike less than five miles from our house! We sort of knew about it from people talking but never sought it out until this day.
It was a pleasant surprise - lots of trails! And lots of things you can't do on them. What? No martinis? Luckily, no e-bikes either.
This is the view from half-way up the hill looking west. That's Batiquitos Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean on the horizon.

We took the "switch backs" going up. The other trail leads back to a surface street, Sito Salvia. There were quite a few hikers, dog-walkers, and mountain bikers.
We decided to come back here mid-week for a less crowded hiking experience
