"New Year's Eve" Dinner, Feb 23rd
Ever since we all rented a villa in Tuscany, we've been getting together with "The Italians' for New Year's Eve. This year, Lorri and I happened to be in Phoenix over New Year's weekend to see Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl.
So, the next date we all were available happened to be February 23rd!
Better late than never! We bought a pork crown roast from Lazy Acres Market, stuffed it with stuff, and cooked it up. We put a temperature probe in the stuffing and one in the thick part of the meat.
Jan and Lorri are getting ready for the group photo.
Group photo number 1.
Group photo number 2. I'm posting all these so that people can pick the photo in which they look their best.
Group photo number 3. I look great in all of them!
Group photo number 4. I'm too lazy to fix the red eyes.
Group photo number 5, er, no, wine photo number 1. We decided to make this a "Pinot Party". Everyone brought a bottle or two of their favorite Pinot Noir which pairs nicely with pork roast.
The table is set and ready to go!
Salad! Salud!
Cheers!
The pork roast was cooked perfectly! I shall carve it up.
Do you think there is enough wine on the table?
If these photos look a little blurry, Lorri was probably taking them while I was plating dinner.
Great friends, great times!
Look, John is almost smiling in this one!
Yup, Lorri was manning the camera.
Another excellent New Year's Celebration!
The aftermath. We never wash the wine glasses until the next morning when we've regained our sobriety and coordination, thereby breaking much fewer!
Happy New Year 2018!
