The field has been whinnied down to twelve horses and all of have been sold!
The proud new owners are in the process of prepping their mounts for the most prestigious horse race in all of Encinitas, the EYCD!
Note to owners: The horse is now yours to keep and train for the Derby. You can change its color, its saddle colors, provide a jockey, give it steroids, cut off its legs, whatever you think may you a competitive advantage! Be creative...or leave it as is, your choice. Oh, and we may have forgotten to mention that a few of them have trouble standing on their own so you have your work cut out for you.
Also, if you want to update the photo of your horse, email it to me and I will add it to this page. If you want to provide additional information or commentary regarding your horse, I will post that too!

New photo of Runamok with jockey Jessie Horsemeister
After an exhaustive search, PP Stables has signed the world-famous
rider, Jessie Horsemeister, to pilot Runamok in the EYCD. Known for
her fierce appearance and aggressive, no-holds-barred, riding style, this combination
becomes the early favorite to win the Derby.

Horse 9 - Owned by Skip & Josie

From the Owners:
Luck changed following the purchase and winning of a multi-million
dollar lottery prize. While living in Paris, Skip met Josie, a part time
actress and snake dancer at the Parisian Bistro, Code Blue.
Having common interests in champagne and fast race horses, they
purchased a champagne house with a stable of race horses and a beautiful farm.
Every year they enter prestigious horse races, such as the
Encinitas Yacht Club Classic in Meritage, Minnesota where
Bubble Dancer demonstrated her spectacular speed by placing first
and taking the pearl jewel winners wreath. The current entry from
Pop the Cork Farm with jockey, Jacinto Jouet is Bubble Dancer, the
first foal by Flicka, sired by Thunderhead. She will once again
demonstrate her spectacular speed and skills at the Cinco de Derby
to be held
at Hill Downs on May 5th.
Horse 10 - Owned by Liz & Pat

Cappall-go-tapa
Horse 11 - Owned by Greg & Kelly

Jockey: Gerald Francis Walsh
Trainer: Dennis Murphy Boyle
"Veteran race goers, and indeed those who simply
love the atmosphere, travel from around the world including
Oceanside, California for the unique experience that is,
the Galway Races.
Adrenalin-pumping action, heart-stopping finishes
and breath-taking fashion; that's what happened
when "Capall-go-tapa" won first place on Saturday
afternoon. Situated on the outskirts of Galway city,
in the West of Ireland, the Galway Racecourse
was the place to be that beautiful day.
Now Trainer, Dennis Murphy Boyle is on his
way with his prized horse, "Capall-go-tapa" and
Jockey, Gerald Francis Walsh to the famous
Kentucky Derby in the States.
In deed, "Dublin Yer Money Stables" feels awfully
lucky right now! USA, here we come."
[editor's note: "Capall-go-tapa" is also entered in
the most famous horse race of all, The EYC Derby!]
Horse 12 - Owned by Jill Drouin
As you can see, the horses are in great shape!
They're getting plenty of fresh air and exercise...

Final eYc Results
If anybody has actually scrolled down this far, Lorri and I would like to thank everyone for joining us at "Hill Downs" for a great day of racing and fun. We actually bet on and watched the Kentucky Derby. Six people bet on the winner, "I'll Have Another" and split the $283 pot!
