We left OC and drove across the Delmarva Peninsula to the quant little town of Tilghman Island. Well, maybe it's not a town, just an Island.

We know it's an island because you have to go over a bridge at Knapps Narrows to get to it. Debbie drove from Baltimore and met us Friday afternoon.

Here are Lorri and Debbie standing on said bridge.

Looking east from the bridge.

Looking east from the bridge.

Ah, looks like a fine place for some afternoon refreshments!

Here is the bridge letting a tall-masted something or other go by.

Here is the circa 1890 house where we stayed Friday through Monday nights. Actually Mike left on Sunday and Deb left Monday.

Lorri and I left Tuesday. It looks kind of dumpy but the interior was nicely renovated and the AC worked well.

This is where we had our crab feast Saturday night out in the back yard. I wish I had crab photos.

Down the street was the Lazyjack Inn. If we had only known...

Lazyjack Inn.

There is actually a Post Office here!

This is a Hotel/Restaurant that we could walk to and enjoy drinks on that back patio.

The TI Inn was another one.

And this is the back yard of our house.

More back yard.

Even more back yard, a nice little water feature.

Mike arrived later Friday evening from Ocean City and the next day we drove to the town of St Michaels, about 10 miles north of our house. The first thing we did was taste wine here (of course!).

The we ate and drank here, "Marcoritaville" named after Marco, the owner.

another attempt

Here we go!

Marcoritaville!

Next stop was Eastern Shore Brewing, beer brewery where we did some tasting.

This is St Michaels Winery

Where we also did some tasting.

OK, so far on Saturday: Wine tasting, lunch, beer tasting, wine tasting...

Is there a common theme here?

The Big Pickle.

This is the home of a very nice old couple who we met at the grocery store where we were picking up dinner supplies.

The store had no basil so the couple invited us to stop by their house on our way home and pick some from their garden.

Somehow, between the four of us we remembered their address and found their house.

Here is the little garden.

And here is the couple with their labradoodle.

Amazing friendly and nice people with a great house and property!

This is where we got crabs. Sorry to say, this is also my last photo from Saturday - no photos of our crab feast.

Mike had to leave on Sunday to get back for work on Monday. Debbie, Lorri and I decided to take the ferry to Oxford.

It's about a 15 minute ride from on arm of the Eastern Shore to another.

Here is the ferry.

Here are Lorri and Debbie on the ferry.

Well, might as well stop for a drink...

So we did.

I think we may have had something to eat too!

It was a nice rustic place.

The dock's view of the restaurant.

Another view.

There was something going on in Oxford with the little fences.

Here we are in the bar of the Robert Morris Inn.

"Salter's" it was called.

And it's not cheap

Could these be the famed skipjacks of the Chesapeake?

On the Ferry again.

They must be skipjacks!

The crew of the ferry, and that's it for Oxford and that's all the photos for Sunday too.

Debbie had to leave for work on Monday

But before she did we spent some more time in the scenic little town of St Michaels.

This time we walked along the harbor area instead of the main street shopping area.

There were a lot of marinas, restaurants and historical buildings.

What are these things. They reminded me of something from the movie Avatar.
