The weather was so nice we decided to go to the "beach".
Not Virginia Beach but the little beach along the James River off the Colonial Parkway.
It was yet another spectacular day in Tidewater Virginia
Lisy, Tom, Edna, Mike & Jeremy Visit
Bob's daughters live in the Philadelphia area and drove all the way down south just to spend a weekend with their dad and us.
Lisy and tom arrived late Thursday. On Friday, we managed to have a nice walk in the HA, stopping for refreshments at Chownings, naturally.
Edna, Mike and little four-month-old Jeremy drove nearly all day Friday, plowing through traffic in Baltimore and DC, and making a couple pit stops for feeding the wee one.
The next morning, Tom, Lisy, Lorri and I walked down to the Williamsburg Winery.
After our walk, we figured we had earned enough "points" to eat and drink as much as we wanted for the rest of the weekend.
Lisy and Tom were on some sort of diet where you get good points for exercise and eating vegetables and bad points for anything tasty or fun.
Yes, I am able to hold a small kid without dropping him or making him cry (at least for a short period).
Here we all are.
Of course we had to celebrate Big Bob's birthday again, and mine too!
Bob received a bobble head John Adams! Who knew such a thing existed? And you thought history geeks were all about books and research...
I passed the "Matt" guitar on to Lisy who is an accomplished Guitarist and she promised to pass it on to another worthy aspiring musician when she's finished with it. Hey Deb, if you see this, please forward it to Matt!
It was an exhausting weekend. Just look at Tom!

Yorktown
Having recently acquired a lifetime National Parks Pass at the senior rate of $10, we thought a visit to Yorktown was in order.
We parked at Surrender Field and walked a long loop around the woods and fields and various sites of Revolutionary War activity.
Our Last Day in VA
We had a very early flight on Tuesday so we spent the afternoon in Richmond and then stayed at a motel near the airport. We walked the cobblestone streets of Shackoe Slip until we found an Irish pub,
There, we had Guinness because it gives us strength and is good for us.
Then we left. It was another great trip to the Burg and great to see some of the family. Can't wait 'til the big Family Reunion, 2012!
