We did see a whale! It's in the middle photo - sort of hard to see it but it's there!

The US Open of Surfing, Tuesday, August 2
We got up "early" and drove north to Huntington Beach to check out the surf competition.
Surf City USA!
The boys checked out the action while Lorri and I found a suitable spot for some relaxing.

The ride home: we drove down the Peninsula, Newport Beach, took the ferry to Balboa Island, then south to San Diego!

After giving Jake & Eric a few pointers and puttin' down some moves on 'em, I let them take a few shots. Holy cow! Is that Jake dunking? And Eric? Could be... Did I mention that Jake is now 6'-00+1/8"?
We had a great time with Jake and Eric and invited them to come back any time, as long as they bring their own food.
