Nothing like a stroll on the beach to clear your brain.
We saw some sort of sea creature, a seal or sea lion or something, then some mussels, and Lorri
We checked out the new tiki sculpture at Swami's. It was a work in progress then and doesn't look much better now. I like it better when it was a Torrey Pine, but apparently it was diseased and had to come down. Oh well...
This is a lizard. ( top )
Our Lady of Encinitas appeared on Good Friday under the train overpass at Encinitas Blvd. City Council says that it is graffiti and has religious content and was not pre-authorized and therefore must go! It's still there but the artist has come forward and offered to move it, pay fines, and resolve the whole mess, The City Council, I'm sure, has breathed a sigh of relief.
Well in our case, you could have called it "Art Sit" because mostly what we did was sit at the Princess Inn English Pub and drink Guinness. Yup, American art, Little Italy, English Pub, Irish beer, that about covers it.
Will and Kate were there too!
Speaking of art, we acquired and original Jan Lord called "The Shoppers" and have placed it above the fireplace in our living room. We first saw it at Art Walk. ( top )
Mother's Day at The Remington Club
Lorri's mom was having some health issues so she was confined to the Healthcare Center. That's where we celebrated Mother's Day. That's Lynn, Lorri and Mom and then with the g-kids, Ashley and Sara.
And then add Dad; Gregg and Ash
Granddaughter Malarie celebrated successfully completing her freshman year at Roanoke College by making the trek to Sunny San Diego in May! This was at lunch at The Princess Inn English Pub after we picked Mal up at the airport.
It was quick week. Time flew by just like these shore birds.
We hit the beach and enjoyed a day of sunny warm weather.
Dinner at Poseidon. What can I say? Mal is a beautiful young lady. Holy cow! Am I old enough to be her grandfather? That's Mal in the middle. The other beautiful young lady is Lorri, my wife.
Speaking of beautiful young ladies, here Mal is joined by her cousins Sara and Ashley. Here they are posing in our guest room with their cell phones at the ready.
They've been buds since, well, since Mal and Sara were born on the same day a continent apart way back in 1992.
We had a little bbq in our backyard with the Evers clan.
Bocce ball, bean bags, the works.
Scrabble!!?? Yup. Our friend Kelly joined us too!
I turned the camera over to the kids and this is what happened!
Good one Mal! and Sara and Ash...
Well, we had a great time with Mal and wish she could have stayed longer! Maybe next time. ( top )
We got a text from Ashley letting us know that she, Gregg and some friends were spending the week at San Elijo and the parents were coming for a bbq that night which I think was a Tuesday. She invited us to join them.
Amazingly they had a couple open camp spots for the night so we grabbed one, packed up the van and headed over.
There are videos of Lorri, Lynn & Gregg dancing up a storm. I wonder where and when they will turn up?
We left the next day after a pleasant walk up the beach.
This is our site and that squirrel was one of about 4,000 that stopped by to say hello and see if we had any food.
This is me relaxing. I'm good at it. ( top )
