Padres last home game of 2010, Thursday, September 30

Thanks to Richard & Marilyn for organizing a road trip, ooops, I mean a train trip, to the Padres game against the Chicago Cubbies

We caught the 11:20 Coaster out of Encinitas. Some of us, including yours truly, qualified for the senior discount! We enjoyed Bloody Marys and cerveza on the ride down.

At Santa Fe Depot downtown we transferred to the trolley for the short ride to the Gaslamp District and Petco Park.

Let me see...we hit two Irish Pubs, drinks at Dublin Square and lunch at The Field.

Then a few beers at Tivoli, the oldest bar this side of I-5, or something like that.

The game was delayed for a while by rain showers! How often does that happen in San Diego? The game was delayed but the Padres bats didn't show up at all! It was a 1-0 loss to the lowly Cubs which put the Pads three games back of the Giants with three games to go. We know now that that was one too many games for the Pads to overcome. Oh well, wait 'til next year!
