Arriving equipped with camping essentials (most of which are shown in
the above photo) the loosely knit Encinitas Yacht Club invaded South
Carlsbad State Beach Campground for a weekend of food, wine and fun.

Josie & Skip were there on Friday and so was Nellie. Greg, Kelly,
Jack & Lorri were there for the whole weekend.

Nellie brought a garage-sale kite (50 cents!) which provided hours of
entertainment.

Bob & Rosario showed up. So did Kay!
Greg and Kelly brought Kelly's grandson Ethan, a nice young feller,
who enjoyed legos, bean bag toss, playing in the waves and didn't
complain too much about being stuck with us boring old folks for the
weekend.

Saturday morning clouds gave way to a bright sunny day

Soooo, we hit the beach

Lorri & Ethan
the beach rocks!

We don't have an EYC flag but that didn't stop us from creating the
logo out of beach stones on the sand below our spot, olive and all.

We had another feast on Saturday! Liz & Pat joined us and we had a
visit from Brian and Wendy and their kids, Q & Riley. Brian is an old
friend of mine & Lorri's from work and they just happened to be camping
a few spots down the road. It was Q's 10th birthday and they invited
Ethan to join them for the party. Very nice.

It looks like I didn't get many photos from Saturday night. I must
have been having too much fun!

I did manage to capture the demise of our beach logo though.

All good things must come to an end. It was a great weekend.

Many thanks to Greg and his sister who works for the State Parks for
procuring a great spot for us! |
