Back in Williamsburg, VA The center of
the "Historic Triangle" (Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown), the home
of Colonial Williamsburg, The College of William & Mary, Busch Gardens
and countless other exciting attractions.
Not the least of which is the Saturday morning farmers' market in
Merchant Square.

Prince George Street; a house with
flowers in the Historic Area. Saturday night dinner (homemade fries,
grilled burgers and corn-on-the cob! also, lots of ketchup).
AJ & Marcia visit!

Our good friends from Encinitas, tennis partner, Meritage alumni, and
Thursday night happy hour people visited on Monday and Tuesday, May 4 &
5. On Monday we went into Colonial Williamsburg, first stopping by the
Garden.
This is the courthouse where AJ was
convicted of having too much fun. There he is serving his time.

We listened to the editor of the Virginia Gazette discuss the recent
publication of the Declaration of Independence. We toured Great Hopes
Plantation and saw some piglets playing in the mud.

We found Thomas Jefferson sitting on a bench in Merchant Square and
took some photos. If anyone is wondering what's with AJ's green hat with
the big "S" on it, it's a Michigan State hat. AJ is an alumnus and a big
Spartan fan.
Monday evening was New Town tavern-hopping night, from Opus 9 to
Green Leaf to Bonefish. I think this photo was from Bonefish.
Tuesday took us to Jamestown where we visited Pocahontas and explored
the Archeareum. The weather was not so great on Tuesday.

We stopped home for lunch then hit Yorktown Battlefield.

We saw Redoubts 9 and 10, the Moore house, where the terms of the
British surrender were negotiated, and then drove to Surrender Field,
where the British soldiers finally laid down there arms.

It was a whirlwind two days with AJ and Marcia and we had a great
time. The weather could have been a little more cooperative but
everything worked out well. It was good to finally have some of our
friends from San Diego see our home here and get an idea of why we like
it here so much.

to Norfolk to catch a plane home.
