On Wednesday, September 5th, we decided to take in a little culture and head on down to Balboa Park to see the "Impressionist Giverny" exhibit. It's only going to be in town until the end of the month so we thought we better see it while we could.
The image to the left was ripped off from a wall poster outside the museum. This is an example of "decorative" Impresionism by a guy named Frieseke.

Here I am standing in front of it. No cameras were allowed inside the exhibit, so this is pretty much it as far as artwork goes for this page.
We started off with a picnic lunch down near the International Houses and, as fate would have it, accidentally set up in front of the "House of Hungary" and boy were we Hungary! We brought along a little wine too.
As we walked through the park on the beautiful late summer day that it was, I thought it would be a good idea to start practicing taking tourist photos because pretty soon we'll be touring Italy and I'll be snapping away.
Below are some examples of my endeavor.
The structure behind Lorri in the photo on the right is the Botanical Building. Inside it are all sorts of flora and fauna, except for not much fauna.
Here are some photos of the flora and one of a rare fauna.
This was taken at one of the shallow pools between the Botanical Building and the Prado. Doesn't it look just like a Monet?
This is how the front of the Art Museum looks while it's being renovated.
