On Thursday, August 2, we took the Coaster downtown to see the Padres take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.

On the way from Santa Fe Depot to the Park we saw the controversial new statue based on the famous end of WWII photo. I sort of like it.

There is no controversy over the newly unveiled T Gwinn statue located at the "Park in the Park" at Petco.

These re views from our seats. The condos keep going up although the pace has slowed to a crawl recently.

That's our ace, Jake Peavy, on the mound. The Pads won, 11-0, so we went out for a celebratory libation in the Gaslamp before catching the 4:50 Coaster back to Encinitas.
