July 4th at Home

We decided that July 4th was no time to be out on the roads so we stayed home and had ou own two-person celebration.

For the occasion we set up our elaborate outdoor sound system:

Next, we put all our food in baskets and brought it from the kitchen to the back patio. The corn is a maple/soy glaze to be cooked on the grill in its own water-soaked husk.

 

This is my co-chef. In the background you can see an important tool of the trade.

Along with the corn, we cooked some Surry Sausage and bratwurst that had been soaking in Guinness.

It was a mellow Fourth.
