Big Bear - April, 2006 - Page 1
We spent last week in Big Bear, CA, courtesy of our good friends Jeff & Pam and the wonderful folks at Hunsaker & Associates, Irvine. We stayed in the company condo at the posh Bayshores Ski & Racquet Club from Tuesday to Sunday and had a great time. Unfortunately we brought the wrong sports equipment with us thinking that we'd be playing some nice springtime tennis. Amazingly, the heavy rain on Tuesday turned to snow overnight and it didn't stop until Wednesday afternoon, leaving over a foot of wet white stuff on the the ground. The tennis courts were still covered with it when we left on Sunday, even though the weather turned warmer and sunny on Thursday and continued that way until we left.
Here a some shots taken from the condo during the blizzard on Wednesday.
Naturally we stayed inside and read. Lorri got the couch, I got the bathtub.
The next morning it was sunny and bright but there was no way we could get Lorri's car out nor did we want to try.
That is Lorri's car, above, and this is what the parking lot looked like.
This is Cienega Street in front of the condo.
Someone left footprints in the snow...
So... we went for a short walk in the neighborhood...
Then we went for long walk, about two miles along Big Bear Blvd., into the village.
